Company History

In 1985, Ross Tumulty formed Celtic Demolition as a sole proprietor. His first contracts were for interior demolition of office buildings throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. In 1987, the company expanded by bringing in David Kavanagh as a member of the team and the business incorporated in the state of Virginia.

In 2001, Celtic Demolition Inc. expanded their business and moved the corporate office to Alexandria, Virginia. Their projects have expanded to include razing of buildings, excavation, strip-outs, façade removal, historic preservation, bridge demolition and recycling.

Some of the Celtic Demolition, Inc. clients include: Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, James G. Davis Construction, Clark Construction, Tishman Construction Corporation of DC, Forrester Construction, Eichberg Construction, Hess Construction, Monarc Construction, Coakley & Williams Construction, Turner Construction, SIGAL Construction, Corman Construction, CK Constructors, Virginia Approach Constructors and Zimmerman Development Company.
